A Follower of Christ

John 10: 1-5 nkjv

1“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

❓How does your everyday life show that you’re not just a believer in Jesus, but a true follower of Him❓

👉  "A true follower of Christ is not recognized by the words they speak on Sunday, but by the life they live on Monday."

💥 In our day and time it is easy to forget the real call Jesus makes upon our lives.

⭐    He not only calls us to believe, but He also calls us to follow.

  • The distinguishing mark of a true disciple of Christ possessing true faith is not just their belief in Him but the fact that they follow Him as well!

He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

IV.   They stay away from evil. Content! v5) Will not follow a stranger! 👉 "The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who has Christ and needs nothing more." A follower of Jesus: ➣ Hears His voice through Scripture. ➣ Believes His promises. ➣ Obeys His commands. ➣ Loves others sacrificially. ➣ Repents quickly when they sin. ➣ Trusts Him through trials. ➣ Perseveres to the end. ➣ None of these qualities are lived out perfectly, but they characterize a heart that belongs to Christ.
